Coronavirus: Glenview Issues Declaration Of Emergency

A declaration of emergency has been issued for the village of Glenview.

Glenview had declared an emergency order in response to the coronavirus.

GLENVIEW, IL — A state of emergency was declared for the village of Glenview on Wednesday to continue village operations in light of the coronavirus pandemic. The proclamation will give Glenview Village President Jim Patterson temporary powers, including the power to enter into contracts for goods and services and the power to manage the assignment and allocation of personnel and equipment.

“Preparedness, response and recovery from the COVID-19 virus is of paramount importance,”
Patterson said in a news release.

The declaration will be in effect until the adjournment of the first regular meeting of
the village board but could be extended by a majority vote of the board.
